What We Do

NextGen Voices is a teen-lead English Class for youth immigrants in NYC. We meet on Fridays at Brooklyn Public Library Central from 4-6. We emphasize English skills that are important for everyday conversations, taking all the time necessary to makes sure students have a deeper understanding of these concepts. In doing this, we welcome immigrants into the New York community through language.

But we do so much more than that! We provide legal resources for immigrants as well as bring guests to introduce new careers and pathways.

All participating students receive a $150 stipend every semester.

Hear From Our Team

Mamadou B, student

“Yesterday, it was a wonderful day for all of us: to have visited the museum with you and our brothers; to have shared awareness of art with you. We greatly appreciated your kindness and your way of doing things. Really yesterday remains a great day for us and helped let these different dreams come true. ”
